The powers that be at Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich are actively monitoring developments surrounding the future of an up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at Barcelona.

That’s according to German transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, who has on Saturday provided an insight into the situation.

The Barca talent to have made his way into the sights of the Bayern brass comes in the form of Mikayil Faye.

Stopper Faye, of course, has enjoyed something of a breakout campaign at youth level in Barcelona, culminating in a regular recent place amongst Xavi’s first-team ranks.

The 19-year-old, who boasts equally impressive traits on both sides of the ball, is widely considered to be something of a star in the making in Catalunya’s capital.

And yet, speculation pointing towards a potential Blaugrana exit for Faye continues to circulate.

Owing to something of an overbooking at the heart of defence in Xavi’s squad, it has been suggested that the powers that be at the Camp Nou could sanction Faye’s sale, in the case of an offer deemed as sufficient being tabled.

And one club who could yet go on to produce such a bid come in the form of the aforementioned Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians, it is confirmed, are ‘monitoring the development of the talent from Barça Atlètic’.

Members of the German giants’ scouting department have watched Faye in action on a number of occasions in the past, with a view to a potential future move for the Senegalese.

It should also be noted, though, that at present, his signing is not considered a ‘hot topic’ at the Allianz Arena.
