Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is reportedly a target for Bayern Munich (h/t journalist Florian Plettenberg).

However, Bayern transfer chief Max Eberl denied any interest in the Chelsea centre-forward, who has fallen down the pecking order under manager Enzo Maresca.

Eberl said (via Transfermarkt): “I have never spoken to him. We are very, very satisfied so far. We have signed three players we absolutely wanted.

“We are going through a difficult time right now due to long-term injuries. That doesn’t make it easy.

“Nevertheless, we will not sign any immediate replacements. There will be no emergency solutions until September 1.

“Hopefully, we will have better luck with the injuries. Our squad is set – let’s see how the season goes.”

Jackson, who earns £100,000 per week, is considering leaving Chelsea after the club signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer.

He has been the third choice for the Blues since their arrival. He wants to feel important elsewhere.

Despite his profligacy in front of goal, Jackson has been a solid player for Chelsea, considering the team around him and the circumstances.

He has netted 30 goals and provided 12 assists in 81 appearances, including 13 goals and six assists last term as Chelsea won the Europa Conference League and Club World Cup.

Jackson bore the burden of leading the line for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, without much help.

Andriy Shevchenko, Radamel Falcao and Fernando Torres struggled to lead the line for Chelsea, but the 24-year-old held his own.

Bayern could prove the perfect destination when Jackson leaves Chelsea. With Harry Kane starting, there will be less pressure on the Senegalese international.

With Bayern competing on multiple fronts, he will get enough game time to develop. He has the potential to become the top striker that most Chelsea fans believe he could be.

Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also monitoring Jackson’s situation at Chelsea. They could prove to be excellent destinations.
