Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of Jarell Quansah from Liverpool.
The 22-year-old centre-half passed his medical on Monday before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract that keeps him at the BayArena until 2030.
Leverkusen will pay an initial £30 million for the England Under-21 international, with an extra £5 million potentially due in performance-based bonuses.
Quansah, part of the England squad that lifted the U21 European Championship, arrives as a direct replacement for Jonathan Tah, who recently made the switch to Bayern Munich.
The Liverpool academy product featured in 25 matched across all competitions as he provided backup to the title-winning partnership of Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté.
This marks the third deal between the two clubs during the current transfer window, following Leverkusen’s sale of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz to the Premier League champions.
