The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have kicked into gear efforts to strengthen the boardroom presence at the Camp Nou with a view to next season.
That’s according to Diario Sport, citing journalist Fabrizio Romano, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Barcelona, it is claimed, are working on a deal to bring in Tim Steidten this summer.
Steidten, for his part, is a sporting executive and squad manager, who has long been held in high regard amongst footballing circles across the continent.
The German was a leading figure behind Bayer Leverkusen’s signings of the likes of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, as well as Mohammed Kudus’ arrival at West Ham United.
Steidten enjoys a close relationship with Barcelona director Deco, a bond which the latter is keen to take advantage of to link up with the 46-year-old in Spain this summer.
As per Sport:
‘Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Barça are in talks with Tim Steidten to be part of Deco’s staff. Barcelona want to continue growing in all segments and Deco understands that he could contribute a lot.’
