Barcelona star speaks out on Nico Williams & Luis Díaz links | OneFootball

Barcelona star Dani Olmo has this week provided his take on the ongoing transfer speculation linking two high-profile wingers with the club.

The pair in question? Nico Williams, and Luis Díaz.

Attackers Nico and Díaz have of course both been hotly tipped to make the move to the Camp Nou this summer.

As much comes amid the widespread understanding that those behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital are actively working to add to Hansi Flick’s options on the left flank.

After it appeared as though Athletic Club standout Nico had emerged as the clear frontrunner to link up with Barca, recent days have seen the name of Liverpool wide-man Díaz return to the fore.

Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Wednesday, the names of both players were, in turn, put to a current member of the Blaugrana’s ranks, in Dani Olmo.

And though the Spanish international did not go as far as to call for either to be signed, he was full of praise for the talented attacking duo:

“If we talk about it, I’ll keep it to myself. It was a private conversation. I didn’t know him. He’s a great person. He’s a world-class player, and Barça should have the best players. He’s proven it. He’s a world-class striker and winger, there’s no doubt about that.

“Nico is another example. I don’t know anything. We’ll talk during the holidays. Nico is a very top player, but we have to respect the fact that he’s not a Barça player. The best have to play at Barça. Nico is a great player. He’s shown the level he brings with his club and the national team. We already know how he would adapt. I like to play with the best.”
