Frenkie de Jong has returned to the Dutch team for the upcoming Nations League fixtures with Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina. De Jong is set to make his first appearance for Oranje since the 10th of September 2023 when the side faced Ireland in a European Championsihp qualifier. A lingering ankle injury kept him out of both the final tournament and subsequent international fixtures. The 27-ear-old has been slowly making his return to the Barcelona side, playing the most minutes since coming back during the sides 5-2 Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade. The midfielder has played 54 times for the national team, scoring twice.
