In what was a night filled with excitement for Barcelona following their win over Athletic Club, there was a moment of concern when Robert Lewandowski was seen limping after the match.

The game had ended in victory for Hansi Flick’s team, but as the players made their way out of the stadium, Lewandowski’s condition quickly caught the attention of those present.

Despite limping, the Polish striker reassured everyone that it was nothing serious. When asked about his condition, Lewandowski confirmed that he was fine and suggested that the issue was just a minor knock.

He expressed confidence that barring any unexpected changes, he would be ready for the upcoming final, where Barcelona will compete for the title against the winner of the match between Mallorca and Real Madrid.

A disappointing night for Lewandowski

As for his performance in the match against Athletic Club, Lewandowski had a mixed outing. Although he played for 73 minutes before being substituted by Ferran Torres, he showed glimpses of his quality.

The striker was effective at holding up the ball and linking up play with his teammates, including some impressive interactions with the centre-backs and offloads that helped move the ball forward.

However, he also struggled with his accuracy on a few occasions, with some misplaced passes and poor control, which was disappointing given the high expectations surrounding him.

Additionally, Lewandowski missed a golden opportunity when Raphinha set him up with a perfect pass, but he failed to convert the chance.

Fit to play the final

It is worth noting that Lewandowski had recently ended a three-match goal drought with a brace against Barbastro in the Copa del Rey.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t find the back of the net against Athletic Club, but he will be hoping to add to his tally in the final.

Now, according to journalist Javier Miguel, despite the limp, Lewandowski’s injury was nothing more than a minor knock, and he will be 100% fit for the decisive final against either Mallorca or Real Madrid.
