Aston Villa are preparing to submit a €50 million offer to sign Barcelona winger Ferran Torres, according to Fichajes. The Birmingham club are keen to bring the Spanish international back to the Premier League as part of their summer recruitment strategy.
Unai Emery has reportedly identified Torres as a key attacking target and believes the 24-year-old can add versatility and directness to Villa’s forward line. Last summer, Villa tabled multiple offers for Torres, but none exceeded €20 million. Barcelona turned those down, citing their significant investment in the former Manchester City man.

This time, however, the situation has shifted. Torres has enjoyed an impressive season under Hans-Dieter Flick, scoring consistently and stepping up during Robert Lewandowski’s injury absence. Despite his strong performances, Barça’s pursuit of new forwards, including Luis Díaz and Marcus Rashford, is expected to limit Torres’s playing time in the coming campaign.

Aston Villa are ready to exploit that uncertainty and have made Torres a strategic priority. Sporting director Monchi is said to be preparing a decisive approach in the coming days. The forward has a contract at Camp Nou until 2027 but could be tempted by the prospect of regular Premier League football.
“Unai Emery is convinced that his versatility and unpredictability can enhance the attack,” the report states. That belief may prove crucial as Villa prepare for another demanding season in both domestic and European competition.

Torres previously played in the Premier League with Manchester City, scoring 9 goals in 28 appearances. A return to England would not be unfamiliar, and under Emery’s guidance, there is confidence within Villa Park that he could flourish once again.
For Villa fans, this is exactly the kind of ambition they have longed for. After securing Champions League football the previous season, the club are operating in a different transfer bracket, and moves for players of Torres’s calibre reflect that shift.
There is excitement around what Torres could bring. He has pace, technical quality and the ability to play across the front three. Under a manager like Emery, known for tactical clarity and man-management, the conditions are in place for Torres to thrive. The price tag is significant, but so is the potential reward.
Villa’s attack, already potent, could become one of the Premier League’s most dynamic if Torres is added to the mix. Fans will remember how clinical he was in patches for City, and with the added maturity he has shown at Barcelona, many believe this is the right player at the right time.
Monchi’s involvement in the deal also adds weight to it. When he identifies a player as a priority, the club tends to move decisively. For Villa supporters, the thought of Torres linking up with the likes of Diaby, Watkins and Bailey is genuinely mouth-watering.
If Villa land this deal, it signals more than just a marquee signing. it shows they are building to compete seriously on all fronts.
