La Liga giants Barcelona are in line to secure an altogether surprising boost on the financial front over the days ahead.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Barca’s market ‘pinch’ will come by way of Ludovit Reis’ transfer from Hamburg to Club Brugge.
Reis, for those not familiar with his name, is a 25-year-old midfielder, who this past season played an important role in Hamburg’s promotion back to the Bundesliga.
Early in his career, though, the Dutchman spent a year plying his trade on the books of Barcelona.
Reis lined out for Barca Atlètic during the 2019/20 campaign, before first departing on loan, and then sealing a permanent switch to the aforementioned Hamburg.
As per the terms of this sale, the Blaugrana secured for themselves a 25% sell-on clause.
And as alluded to above, this week, this foresight is set to pay off for the board at the Camp Nou.
As per a report from MD, Club Brugge have tied up a €6 million deal to bring Reis in from Hamburg for next season.
With a quarter of this fee owed to Barcelona, the Spanish champions are therefore in line to receive €1.5 million.
