Barcelona have often struggled in giving fitting farewells to stalwarts of the club, with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez among those who deserved a more graceful exit. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen appears set to be the next player on that list.
Unlike the aforementioned duo, however, the case with the goalkeeper is more clear when one considers his clear dip in form and inconsistency in recent years and the sense of security that arrived with Wojciech Szczesny last season.
Now, the Blaugrana are planning a massive change in goal with Joan Garcia being just one step away from arriving at the club.
Ter Stegen, needless to say, is furious with the developments and feels there is an agenda against him internally.
As brought forth in a recent report by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona see no reason to give Ter Stegen any explanation for their wish to sign a new goalkeeper.
The administration sees it to be their responsibility to plan for the long term and bring in fresh legs whenever they deem it to be right.
Owing an explanation to pre-existing players in the department, thus, is not seen to be a necessity for players should not have a say in the team’s recruitment.

As they see it, Hansi Flick and Deco are in charge of planning and transfers and will have the final say.
The manager, from that point, can offer explanations to any player who asks for clarity if he deems it required. If not, his lineups and decisions will speak for themselves.
Just as signing a forward has never been carried out taking the opinion of existing forwards, Barcelona see no need to take the current goalkeepers’ opinion before signing a new shot-stopper.
Even in Luis Diaz’s transfer should it work out, no forward will be consulted, nor will any explanation be provided.
Garcia’s arrival is all but closed and Ter Stegen must choose between one of three options – either stay and prove to be superior to the Espanyol goalkeeper, accept a bench role at Barcelona or look for a new club.
