Barcelona have enjoyed a stellar start to the 2024/25 season, securing five victories in their opening five La Liga matches.
However, a 2-1 defeat to AS Monaco in the opening game of their Champions League campaign briefly dampened the mood.
Despite this setback, confidence in Hansi Flick’s project remains unwavering.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco met with Flick at the team hotel for a relaxed chat, shortly after the defeat to Monaco.
All three agreed that the defeat was only a small bump in the road and did not overshadow the impressive performances seen so far this season.
The trio calmly analyzed the match, identifying areas for improvement but maintaining a positive outlook. They agreed that there is ample time and opportunity to rebound in the Champions League.

Flick shared this message of confidence with the dressing room, praising the players’ attitude and urging them to focus on their strengths while learning from mistakes.
His belief in the team’s ability to bounce back quickly was clear, particularly with a challenging fixture against Villarreal at La Ceramica looming.
Flick’s coaching staff, in fact, wasted no time in reviewing the Monaco match, using the flight back to analyze where adjustments are needed.
Despite the defeat, the atmosphere within the club remains calm, with Flick keen on ensuring that errors are not repeated, especially in Europe.
As Barça prepare for their next challenge, the focus is on maintaining their positive form in La Liga while making the necessary corrections for future Champions League encounters.
There is hope that Barcelona will be able to bounce back from their UCL setback once they have their top players such as Gavi, Frenkie de Jong and Dani Olmo return to full fitness.
