Barcelona have been offered a major opportunity to play a high-profile friendly match in Casablanca on July 20, as per Mundo Deportivo.

The timing of the offer comes just as the club prepares for its summer tour in Japan and South Korea.

This unexpected proposal is a reflection of the club’s growing international reputation, especially after winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup during the 2024/25 season.

Although the opposition has not been finalised, it is said that the match would be played against a strong opponent, with the organisers currently searching for a suitable team.

If accepted, Barcelona would fly to Casablanca and return the same day, as the travel distance is short.

More importantly, the match comes with a hefty financial incentive, adding to the appeal, although no numbers have been made official yet.

Barcelona’s coaching staff is expected to begin pre-season training on July 13, and the original plan was to hold an internal training match or face a local side on July 20.

But with this Casablanca offer on the table, the decision now rests with head coach Hansi Flick.

The club see the pre-season as vital preparation for the new campaign, and nothing will be done without Flick’s approval.

Known for his strict planning and attention to detail, especially regarding fitness and player workload, Flick has been given full authority by the board and President Joan Laporta.

If the German manager feels that the Casablanca game could disrupt the team’s rhythm or overburden the players, the offer will be politely declined. The club has made it clear that they trust Flick’s judgment entirely.

For now, the proposal remains under consideration. If accepted, it would offer Barcelona a solid test ahead of their Asian tour and some extra funds in the process.
