Barcelona president Joan Laporta will not be present for the club’s final outing of the campaign.
That’s according to Catalunya Ràdio, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Xavi’s Barca, of course, are set to close out the club’s endeavours for 2023/24 this coming weekend.
A trip to Andalusia to take on Sevilla lies in wait, as part of the season’s final round of La Liga fixtures.
One headline member of the Blaugrana brass, however, who will not be in attendance at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Sunday night, comes in the form of the aforementioned Joan Laporta.
As much will no doubt come as a point of interest to those of a Barcelona persuasion, amid the widespread understanding that the Spanish patron is the leading figure behind the push for Xavi to be relieved of his duties on the touchline in Catalunya.
His impending absence this weekend, however, comes for altogether unrelated reasons.
As per the aforementioned Cat Ràdio, Laporta will only have time for one trip this weekend, and has come to the altogether understandable decision to accompany Barcelona Femení to Bilbao, for their Champions League final showdown with Lyon.
