It has been quite a few days since it was reported that Barcelona have completed the capture of Joan Garcia.
Even Espanyol have confirmed that the €25 million release clause of their star goalkeeper has been activated, with Barcelona being the obvious subject.
However, the Catalans have been unable to finalise the deal as of yet, which may have led to some internal fears among fans.
But Barcelona fans have no reason to fear at all, as the Joan Garcia deal may be confirmed as early as today.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the transfer is now in its final stages, with the last few administrative formalities set to be wrapped up this Wednesday.
The player’s agent, Juanma Lopez, is handling the paperwork, while FC Barcelona’s corporate director Manel del Rio, is expected to travel to LaLiga headquarters in Madrid to officially register the transaction.

The total amount involved will be €26 million – €25 million for the buyout clause, plus additional inflation adjustments. Once completed, the signing will be validated and made official.
The formal signing is scheduled for Friday at President Joan Laporta’s office, with a quiet presentation planned afterwards.
Garcia will become Barça’s first major signing for the new season. He won’t be the last either, with Barcelona determined to bring in another La Liga gem in the form of Nico Williams.
The Spanish international is desperate to join Barça this summer after a botched move last time out.
However, with Athletic Club asking for the €62 million release clause to be paid, it will be interesting to see if Barcelona are able to pull off this deal.
