Real Madrid failed to win a third consecutive game in La Liga on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by CA Osasuna away at El Sadar.
The match was mired in controversy with the refereeing being called into question once again over multiple decisions that left Los Blancos frustrated and angry.
One such call that has stirred up a lot of tension is the direct red card shown to Jude Bellingham for his verbal protest against the referee over a corner-kick call.
The referee’s report noted that he showed the red card to the 21-year-old after he said ‘F*** you’ to him, but video evidence suggests that the Englishman yelled ‘F*** off’.
The midfielder himself clarified the matter after the game, claiming that he never intended any disrespect towards the match official and that the situation was all a misunderstanding.
Real Madrid’s result last evening meant that their rivals, FC Barcelona, have a great chance to go to the top of the La Liga table if they win their game against Rayo Vallecano tomorrow.

Ahead of that clash, the Blaugrana manager Hansi Flick spoke to the media and was asked what he thought of Bellingham’s red card against and whether it made any difference if he said ‘F*** you’ or ‘F*** off’.
“Let’s see, for me, I think it’s disrespectful in any way. For me it’s disrespectful, but I don’t have to decide and I don’t think it’s my business,” said Flick, as quoted by SPORT.
“I always tell my players that why waste time and energy to say certain things to the referees because of their decisions,” the Barcelona coach added.
Stressing that he has instructed his Barça players to not indulge in such behaviour, the German added:
“We have one person on the pitch who has every right to speak to the referee and that is the captain. We have to accept that.
“don’t like that kind of behaviour and today I have insisted to my players. At the end of the day it is not good for the team if you get a red card. It weakens us.”
