Footage highlighting the current playing surface of La Liga outfit Rayo Vallecano’s pitch has turned heads across social media this week.

As much comes with the Vallecas terrain looking altogether worse for wear…

Rayo are for their part due to return to action later this evening, acting as hosts in a Europa Conference League qualifying meeting with Belarusian side Neman.

Then, just three days later, Vallecas will be in use once more.

This comes with Rayo primed to lock horns with Hansi Flick’s Barcelona in a La Liga showdown in the Spanish capital.

And as alluded to above, if the latest images are anything to go by, then the latter could have something of a tough time playing their free-flowing football on Sunday…

Barcelona’s supporters have expressed widespread concern over the last 24 hours, after a video of the current condition of the pitch at Vallecas surfaced online.
