Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday taken firm aim at two leading members of the club’s first-team ranks.
This comes owing to developments in Barcelona’s meeting with Athletic Club.
Hansi Flick’s troops were of course back in action a short time ago, having made the trip to Saudi Arabia for the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana managed to book their spot in the competition’s finale, courtesy of goals on the part of Gavi and Lamine Yamal.
And yet, as alluded to above, this did not save two members of Barca’s ranks from being widely targeted by the club’s fanbase.
The pair in question? Frenkie de Jong, and Robert Lewandowski.
Frontman Lewandowski was for his part in from the off against Athletic, with midfielder De Jong having been introduced during the 2nd-half.
The former struggled to make an impact on proceedings, however, with the latter having been extremely lucky not to give away a late goal after some sloppy play in the middle of the park.
Long the respective subjects of widespread criticism in Catalunya’s capital, many of a Barcelona faithful in turn took to social media once more this evening, to call for both Lewandowski and De Jong to be moved on at the earliest opportunity:
