Barcelona announce Lucy Bronze exit

Barcelona have revealed that England international Lucy Bronze will leave the club this summer.

The defender joined two years ago from Manchester City and enjoyed a hugely successful spell with the Catalan club, winning every major honour available.

However, with her contract expiring at the end of this month, Barça have now announced that Bronze will not sign an extension and will leave on a free.

Reports in Spain suggested that the club were keen on tying the 32-year-old down to a new one-year deal, albeit on reduced terms given that she is one of the club’s highest earners.

A deal could not be reached, with speculation now suggesting that the Lionesses legend could be set for a move to the NWSL.
