Following the footsteps of Erling Haaland and Timo Werner, Benjamin Sesko appears to be the next big forward coming out of RB Leipzig.

Since joining the club in 2023, the forward has netted 39 goals for Leipzig, 21 of which have come in the ongoing campaign.

Sesko’s goalscoring prowess, coupled with his imposing presence in the final third, has not gone unnoticed, with several top clubs across Europe interested in his services.

Are Barcelona interested in Sesko?

According to a recent report from Diario AS, the race to sign Sesko appears to have started already, with the report claiming that the three big clubs in Spain are all tracking his situation at Leipzig.

Barcelona, no doubt, are a part of that trio, as the Catalans look to potentially shore up their offensive unit in the coming summer.

It must be noted that Sesko signed a new contract with RB Leipzig last summer, extending his deal at the club until 2029.

However, the report suggests Leipzig have not ruled out a potential transfer for the Slovenian international.

The Bundesliga giants, however, are expected to ask for a fortune. They are, in fact, expected to slap a €100 million price tag on Sesko.

But Leipzig are open to negotiations, and the figure could come down to €90 million. Sesko’s valuation might even come down to €80 million if Leipzig fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Barcelona, though, are likely to be priced out of a move for Sesko in any case. The Catalans are not in a position to spend a fortune on Sesko or any other forward in the coming summer.

Barça, in fact, have already braced themselves for another season with Robert Lewandowski as the main striker. Hence, the Blaugrana may only consider a move for a new striker in the summer of 2026, even as they continue to monitor Sesko’s development at Leipzig.
