Avram Glazer has confirmed he has no interest in selling his shares in Manchester United.

One of six siblings who control the majority share left behind by late father Malcolm following his hugely controversial takeover of the club in 2005, Avram and his family have ceded control of football operations to Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS following a minority buy-in last year.

Ratcliffe's takeover bid was preferred by the Glazers as it gave them the chance to remain at Old Trafford, unlike the rival offer proposed by Qatari investor Sheikh Jassim, who wanted to buy 100% of the club's shares.

It emerged earlier this week that United have paid over £1bn in interest fees alone, relating to the Glazers' leveraged takeover 20 years ago, with fans still widely calling for the family to sell up and go.

Avram Glazer was confronted by Sky News on Wednesday with questions about his future and Ratcliffe's tenure at the club. When asked if he felt INEOS' management of the club had made his life harder, he responded: "I don't think it's appropriate to talk about right now."

However, when asked if he would "sell up" and leave United for good, Glazer offered a more concrete response.

"No," he assured, before hurrying away for a meeting with U.S. president Donald Trump.

While Ratcliffe and INEOS have come under their own immense fire for the recent financial management of United, the Glazers remain a source of frustration, and the long-term concerns about the running of the club are set to be the subject of a fan protest before a March meeting with Arsenal.
