Atlético Madrid make contact over signing of Chelsea star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid are one of a number of clubs expressing a keen interest in the services of Chelsea star Renato Veiga this summer.

That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who has this weekend provided an insight into the situation.

Veiga for his part finds himself on the way out at Stamford Bridge at present.

Despite an impressive stint on loan with Italian heavyweights Juventus this past season, the Portuguese international, it is understood, does not feature in the plans of the Chelsea coaching staff.

A whole host of clubs from across Europe, in turn, have set their sights on Veiga’s signature.

And as alluded to above, front and centre on this list of suitors are Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the heart of defence:

‘Atlético Madrid, Bayern and Premier League clubs all in the race to sign Renato Veiga.’

It is added that:

‘Chelsea want package over €40m for Veiga, while talks with clubs continue.’
