Monday’s reports claim that Atalanta remain confident that they will be able to get a deal done with Premier League side Fulham for centre-forward Rodrigo Muniz, who is being touted as a potential replacement for Italy international Mateo Retegui.
Atalanta are on the lookout for a new striker to replace Retegui, who left Bergamo after one year to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah in an eye-watering €65m deal: The most expensive sale from Serie A this year.
La Dea have been exploring a number of potential profiles, including Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, but believe they have a genuine chance of landing Fulham’s Muniz this window.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Brazilian asked not to be involved in Fulham’s 1-0 pre-season friendly victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, which the Pink Paper suggests is a positive indication for Atalanta.
He still trained in the morning with the rest of his teammates, but did not go on to feature in the test match at Craven Cottage.
Fulham are reportedly valuing the 24-year-old in the region of €45m, but Atalanta feel that there could be room to negotiate, and that a deal could potentially be struck for an offer of €40m plus bonuses.
