Atalanta are closing in on a deal to sign Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz, reports from Italy claim, but first the Premier League side must find a replacement before they will part ways with the 24-year-old.

According to what has been reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Muniz is prepared to accept a five-year contract worth around €3 million per season for La Dea but won’t be allowed to move until Fulham first sign another forward.

Atalanta must also prepare to pay around €43-44 million for the former Flamengo player, already working Fulham down from their initial €50 million asking price.

Atalanta choose Muniz for post-Retegui but wait for Fulham

Earlier this summer, La Dea parted ways with forward Mateo Retegui, who departed Bergamo in favour of a big-money move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah. Last season’s Serie A golden boot winner was a target of several top clubs and when a large offer arrived from Saudi Arabia, it was too good to refuse for Atalanta.

Retegui left the club and now Atalanta are attempting to find his heir. Meanwhile, they now must wait for Fulham to do the same, as the transfer merry-go-round continues.
