The 29-year-old defensive midfielder has not been relied upon by Villa boss Unai Emery and is association with the club looks set to come to an end soon.

The Villa boss sanctioned a loan spell in the summer for Dendoncker, who made the temporary switch to Belgian club Anderlecht.

Dendoncker has featured regularly for Anderlecht so far and the Belgian outfit have an option to buy clause in his loan deal.

The defensive midfielder has a contract with Villa until June 2026 and Aston Villa will want Dendoncker off their wage bill.

However, it has been claimed that a summer transfer is more likely on the cards for Dendoncker than a permanent move this month.

The Belgian has featured only 36 times for Aston Villa since joining them in the summer of 2022 from Wolves.

Dendoncker also spent the second half of the last season on loan with Serie A outfit Napoli, where he only managed three appearances.
