Arsenal's search for a new striker this summer is believed to have been narrowed down to two leading names, a report has revealed.

The Gunners are one of many sides chasing a big-name forward, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all known to be keen to bolster in attack once the summer transfer window opens.

The four sides have often been linked with the same players but, as the transfer window inches closer, focused shortlists are starting to emerge.

According to David Ornstein, Arsenal now see Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko as their leading targets, with manager Mikel Arteta unlikely to seal a dream link-up with Newcastle United's Alexander Isak.

"Arsenal will also look to strengthen in attack, players such as Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting, Benjamin Sesko on the radar," he told NBC Sports.

"I don't think Alexander Isak is going to be realistic, nor the likes of Victor Osimhen and any other names you hear swirling around."

Several clubs appear to have ended their pursuit of Osimhen. Both Chelsea and United are known to be focusing their efforts on Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, potentially opening the door for Arsenal sign one of their priority targets with very little competition.

Gyokeres is thought to be most interested in a move to Arsenal, who may have to pay around the £60m mark to snap up the Sweden international.

Sesko, meanwhile, remains a target for both Chelsea and United - both clubs favouring moves for younger strikers - but could prove incredibly expensive. Reports of a £60m release clause have since been challenged and there are suggestions he could be sold for as much as £86m.
