Arsenal head to Wolves in the Premier League this weekend with three points the sole objective.
The Gunners lost ground on leaders Liverpool last weekend after blowing a two-goal lead to draw with Aston Villa. Mikel Arteta’s side issued a response in Europe, after beating Dinamo Zagreb at the Emirates to all but assure Champions League progress.
Next up is a trip to Molineux and much of the narrative will surround Matheus Cunha. Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Brazilian from Wolves before the deadline, though the Midlands outfit have insisted Cunha is not for sale.
“He is my player – I think he is not for sale. This is the information from the club,” Wolves boss Vitor Pereira said on Friday.
“He is committed with us. What we need from him is that he plays at his high level. He is very important for us.”
Wolves are 17th in the Premier League, outside the relegation places on goal difference.
Mikel Arteta cast doubt on the involvement of William Saliba on Saturday but did not rule out the centre-back. Saliba has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury and will be assessed.
Myles Lewis-Skelly is also facing a race against time to feature. Arteta confirmed Ben White is not yet ready to return with the defender joined on the sidelines by Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The absences of Saka and Jesus have led to Arsenal assessing options in the transfer market before the deadline.
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Kiwior, Gabriel, Calafiori; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Martinelli, Havertz, Trossard.
Wolves host Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday 25th January 2025. Kick-off at Molineux is 15:00 GMT.
