Arsenal will host Manchester City this week in the semi-final stages of the Subway Women's League Cup.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that last Sunday's impresser Lia Walti will be fit to start, having undergone surgery prior to Christmas. Gunners captain Kim Little is set for a spell on the sidelines after getting surgery on her hand, meaning the team will be hoping for Walti's leadership in the absence of their skipper.

Caitlin Foord is another player in doubt for the blockbuster, having been absent from Sunday's encounter due to a hamstring problem sustained against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

However, positive news in the Arsenal camp arrives in the form of Katie McCabe, as the defender returns from her two-match ban.

Deadline-day signing Chloe Kelly will be ineligible for Thursday's matchup against her parent club due to the terms of her loan contract disallowing her to play against City.

Lauren Hemp remains sidelined for the semi-final clash / James Gill - Danehouse/GettyImages

The Cityzens will remain without star forward Lauren Hemp who underwent surgery prior to Christmas. Following Kelly's departure to Arsenal, Hemp's absence leaves the side thin on the ground in the channels.

Captain Alex Greenwood won't make her return anytime soon, set to be sidelined for a few more months. Taylor's side are certainly feeling the impact of her loss, having conceded 10 goals in three league games since the turn of the year.

Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw should be ready for a complete return to the pitch, and will have a good chance at being involved on Thursday evening.

Much like Kelly, former-Gunner Laura Wienroither will be unavailable for the semi-final due to the terms of her loan contract.

Arsenal vs Manchester City score prediction

It will certainly be a close encounter and we can expect both sides to arrive far more compact than they did for Sunday's seven-goal thriller.

Arsenal seem to evolve into a different beast under the lights of Meadow Park, as the noise of the north bank prepares to edge the side over the line in the semi-final showdown.
