Fabrizio Romano reports that Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad have submitted an offer in the region of €35m (£29.5m) for Leandro Trossard, with the Saudi transfer window closing on Monday, September 2nd.

Al-Ittihad are on the lookout for a new winger, but the decision is now up to Arsenal.

Romano writes that Trossard has always been an important player for Mikel Arteta, so it remains to be seen how the Gunners feel about letting him go.

Up until a few days ago, it would have been unthinkable for Arsenal to let Trossard go. The Gunners needed to strengthen their options in wide areas, not let them go.

The only thing that might have changed the picture is the addition of Raheem Sterling from Chelsea.

With Sterling and Gabriel Martinelli both capable of operating on the left-wing, and Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus up front, perhaps Arsenal could consider cashing in on Trossard while they have the chance.

It would still leave the squad relatively short, but not nearly to the same extent as before Sterling’s arrival.

Even if they do decide to sell, perhaps the Gunners could look to negotiate a higher price. But Trossard’s 19 goals since his 2023 arrival might make him too valuable to let go.
