Arsenal are prepared to sell goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for £20 million amid interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to BBC Sport.

The Gunners are currently close to selling striker Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace. They have offered £25m plus £5m in add-ons which is likely to be accepted.

Ramsdale could be the next player heading for the exit door. Wolves held talks over an initial loan last week, but the Gunners prefer a permanent transfer deal.

Arsenal are eyeing £20m for the 26-year-old, but it is unclear whether Wolves will meet the asking price, considering their financial restrictions.

Ramsdale most likely to leave before the transfer deadline

Ramsdale was brilliant during his first two seasons with the Gunners, but he lost his starting spot last term after the arrival of David Raya on an initial loan.

Raya was signed for his better range of distribution and he has now established himself as the undisputed choice between the sticks for Arsenal.

Ramsdale may want guaranteed minutes elsewhere during the prime of his career. Wolves can offer him that. He could take over from Jose Sa.

A £20m fee seems quite low for England’s second-choice goalkeeper, but his lack of playing time over the past year could be a reason behind the reduced valuation.

Arsenal have already identified a replacement for him. They have agreed terms with Espanyol’s Joan Garcia and could pursue a deal once Ramsdale leaves.
