Arsenal have initiated contact with Olympiacos as they eye potential summer deals for striker Charalampos Kostoulas and midfielder Christos Mouzakitis, according to Birmingham World.
The Gunners want to strengthen their options in the striking and midfield departments for next season, and the Greek teenagers have attracted them.
However, Arsenal will face competition from some of their Premier League rivals for 17-year-old Kostoulas and 18-year-old Mouzakitis, with Aston Villa, Manchester United and Brentford also keen on the duo.
The very fast 6ft 1in striker recently helped the Greek Super League leaders beat Aris 2-1 by bagging a brace, and he has established himself as a key player for the first-team after helping the Olympiacos reserve squad win the UEFA Youth League last term.
The Arsenal target weighed in with five goals and two assists in eight games to emerge as the best young player in Greece second division, where the B team compete, and the likes of Bayern Munich, Juventus, Fiorentina and Borussia Monchengladbach are also keeping tabs on the teenage sensation.
Kostoulas and Mouzakitis played key roles to help their side qualify for the last 16 of the Europa League, and the latter is already a full Greek international.
The left-footed central midfielder has been likened to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta due to his style of play and control of the ball, and the Gunners could do with such a youngster within their ranks.
Arsenal also have Rosenborg midfielder Sverre Nypan on their radar, but Manchester City want the Norwegian youngster too, and going after Mouzakitis could be a better option.
Their summer plans are starting to take shape after failing to sign any players in January, and landing some forwards and midfielders will be a huge boost for their squad depth going forward.
