Arsenal are seriously considering a deal to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid with the forward unsettled in the Spanish capital.
Rodrygo is open to an exit from Real Madrid after a challenging campaign. The Brazil international has scored just six league goals and has become frustrated with a supporting role for Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe.
Arsenal have now opened talks with Real Madrid to understand the conditions of a deal. Mikel Arteta wants to improve his forward line and Rodrygo has emerged as an ideal candidate.
The 24-year-old has 68 goals and 50 assists in 268 appearances for Real Madrid and has won three league titles and two Champions League trophies among his honours.
Arsenal view Rodrygo’s unhappiness at Real Madrid as an unexpected market opportunity, though Sky Germany have reported that the Gunners deem a deal difficult.
While the Spanish side are prepared to listen to offers, it would likely take a fee of around €100m (£84.4m) to get a deal over the line. Chelsea and Liverpool are also monitoring his situation.
Arsenal have already committed a fee of €60m (£50.6m) to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, while the signing of a centre-forward is the priority for the North London side. Earlier this week, reports in Portugal claimed a £59m fee has been agreed for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.
