Caldentey’s involvement in the first part of the training was encouraging, but her premature exit left a question mark over her availability for Spain’s upcoming fixtures against Canada on Friday and Italy next Tuesday.

No specific details have been disclosed regarding the nature or severity of the issue, but the expectation within the camp is optimistic for her recovery, according to Spanish publication AS.

Caldentey’s condition is being closely monitored, with hopes she can still take part in Spain’s match later in the week.

The training session, held in Madrid, marked the emotional return to work for the Spanish national team. It was well-attended, with around 200 fans present, cheering on the 20 internationals who took to the field.

Absent from the day’s activities were Jenni Hermoso, Lucia Garcia, and Ana Tejada, who are expected to join the squad on Tuesday, their arrival delayed due to their commitments in Mexico and the USA.

While the squad’s return to training provided many positive signs, Caldentey’s premature departure overshadowed the otherwise buoyant atmosphere, raising fresh concerns for Arsenal, who are already dealing with a number of injury issues.

Caldentey has really hit her stride since signing for Arsenal. After scoring against Valerenga during the week, she coolly converted a penalty against West Ham at the weekend, breaking the deadlock. She also provided the assist for Rosa Kafaji’s goal to secure the points.
