According to The Times, and later reported by SPORT, it has come to light that Arsenal are showing serious interest in bringing Real Madrid winger Rodrygo to the Premier League on loan.

Mikel Arteta’s team has already had a very busy transfer window, securing the signings of Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Still, Arsenal are not finished yet. Their long-standing admiration for Rodrygo has resurfaced, and they are now exploring a new route to secure his services via a loan.

This is a fresh idea that had not been seriously considered until now, and it is one that Real Madrid might be hesitant to accept.

After all, sending a valuable player out without bringing in a decent transfer fee is not something the Spanish giants usually favour.

Dilemma over Rodrygo’s future

While a loan deal might not be ideal for Madrid, it does offer one benefit, as it could help Rodrygo, who is also wanted by Liverpool and PSG, regain value on the market.

It is to be noted that the Brazilian forward currently holds a €90 million market value, but that figure could drop if he stays at Madrid and does not get enough playing time under Xabi Alonso, especially after the hints dropped during the Club World Cup.

If Rodrygo does not feature much in the early La Liga matches, it could create the perfect opening for Arsenal.

The London club is prepared to wait until the final days of the transfer window, hoping Madrid’s stance will soften.

A loan with an optional or even mandatory purchase clause could be a win-win for both sides. This way, Rodrygo gets regular football, Arsenal strengthen their attack, and Madrid avoid losing a valuable asset for a lower transfer fee.

As the days count down, all eyes will be on how Rodrygo is used at the Bernabeu, as Arsenal are ready to pounce if the door opens.
