Feyenoord and Liverpool have reached a ‘verbal agreement’ tonight in negotiations for Arne Slot, according to reports in The Netherlands.
The 45-year-old is expected to be announced as successor to Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield hotseat over the weekend.
Liverpool and Feyenoord representatives were locked in talks on Friday over the terms of Slot’s release.
It’s been reported that the Rotterdam side were seeking up to €13 million for Slot, and up to two members of his first-team staff.

And now the formalities look set to begin with the clubs seemingly having agreed terms over the ‘transfer’ of the coach, reckoned to be a Dutch record.
Paperwork is now expected to be completed and Slot will be confirmed as Liverpool manager soon.
Slot led his Feyenoord side to the KNVB Beker (Dutch Cup) title on Sunday, downing NEC 1-0 thanks to a goal from Igor Paixao.
It was the 45-year-old’s second major honour in charge, having claimed glory in the Eredivisie in the 2022-23 season.
Slot also led Feyenoord to the first-ever UEFA Europa Conference League final in 2022 and he is two-time Dutch manager of the year.
The manager, 45, confirmed his intentions to leave Feyenoord for Anfield on Thursday night ahead of his side’s Eredivisie game against Go Ahead Eagles.
The 3-1 victory assured the Rotterdam side’s qualification to the group stages of next season’s Champions League and, following the game, Feyenoord’s players were reported to have been given a week off.
It’s been reported in his homeland that moving to Anfield is Slot’s “dream”.
Liverpool are believed to have initially sought to appoint Xabi Alonso, but the Spaniard opted to remain at Bayer Leverkusen.
Then Ruben Amorim, the Sporting CP manager, came into the frame but the trail went cold on the Portuguese.
Slot was previously courted by Tottenham, coming close to being appointed last summer before the Lilywhites alighted on Ange Postecoglou.
Also reported to be interested were Chelsea and Leeds United with Slot turning down the chance to move to Yorkshire back in February 2023.
