Liverpool manager Arne Slot has insisted a final resolution over Trent Alexander-Arnold's future at the club has not yet been reached.
The Reds have faced significant contract uncertainty all season after Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk all entered the final 12 months of their respective deals, with fans left sweating that three star players could leave for free.
Those tensions have eased significantly in recent weeks following confirmation of new contracts for Salah and Van Dijk, although those agreements only came after it emerged Alexander-Arnold had reportedly agreed to leave and join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
The process to take Alexander-Arnold to Madrid is not yet thought to be formally finalised and Slot confirmed as much when he spoke to the media ahead of Sunday's meeting with Leicester City.
"I think you would be surprised if I answered differently to the rest of the season," Slot said when pressed on Alexander-Arnold's contract.
"It is for hours the same answer: we don't talk about these things when they are not done and they are not."

It was reported as far back as February that Liverpool were hopeful that Alexander-Arnold would ultimately be wooed by an emotional attachment to the Reds, with feelings likely to be overwhelming as Slot's side close in on the Premier League title.
Just how much of a role Alexander-Arnold will play in the run-in is not yet clear. An ankle injury has kept him sidelined for over a month, although there is confidence he will soon return to help his side's final push for glory.
"Trent is coming back from injury and trained with us this week, he has shown his commitment and he shows me what a player he is when he is on the pitch and how much he works hard to be back with the team and the fans of Liverpool," Slot revealed. "Everyone who watches football knows he is an incredible full-back for this club, so let's see what the future brings.
"Trent is not ready to start but if things go well today and tomorrow, he might - might - be on the bench [against Leicester]. First session with the team was Wednesday, so not able to start but let's see if he can join us. It would be nice if he is with us."
