Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger has on Wednesday beaten out the competition, to secure for himself a prestigious individual prize.
The accolade in question? Real Madrid Player of the Month.
Stopper Rüdiger, for his part, is fresh off a month to remember in April.
Featuring in all six of Los Blancos’ outings across all competitions, the German international played a pivotal role in his side’s endeavours on both the domestic and European fronts.
He shone bright across both Champions League quarter-final legs against Manchester City, notching the decisive penalty in the shootout to book Real’s place in the competition’s final-4.
And back in La Liga, Rüdiger continued to prove himself a near-immovable object, too, with Carlo Ancelotti’s troops potentially in line to wrestle back the Spanish top-flight title from arch rivals Barcelona as soon as this weekend.
In turn, on Wednesday, it should not come as a surprise to hear of Rüdiger’s exploits being recognised by the adoring Blancos fanbase.
As per an official release across the club’s social media platforms, the former Chelsea man has beaten out competition from the likes of Vinícius Jr. and Federico Valverde, to scoop the award for Real Madrid Player of the Month:
