One player who seems destined to spend the 25/26 season out on loan is young centre-back Juma Bah. Bah was signed by Manchester City during the January transfer window from Real Valladolid. He subsequently spent the second half of the 24/25 season on loan at Lens. Bah impressed in Ligue One when allowed to start. Now it seems that another loan spell in Ligue One beckons for Juma Bah. It has been reported that he has a choice to make between two French clubs for next season.
Fabrizio Romano has reported via X, that Juma Bah has loan offers from Lyon and OGC Nice to consider. Furthermore, Romano reports that one of the two Ligue One clubs will be Bah’s loan destination for next season. A decision from Bah on where he will play next season is expected in the near future.
Juma Bah impressed last season in La Liga and Ligue One. Based on the form he displayed in both leagues last season, the 19-year-old centre-back appears set for a long career at the highest level. Bah has all of the physical attributes required to one day play in England. He also has the necessary technical ability to be a Manchester City centre-back. Although that side of his game does need to be further developed.
The hope is that by going out on loan at either Lyon or OGC Nice next season, Juma Bah can get the opportunities to play at a high level and play regular first-team football. Playing in Ligue One will allow Bah to play in a quality league and further his development. If he can have a successful loan spell in France, it could set him up to become a member of Pep Guardiola’s squad in the 26/27 season. But he would have to impress next season for that scenario to become a realistic possibility.
Juma Bah looks set to spend the 25/26 season in Ligue One. It now seems to be a matter of which club he will play at out of Lyon or OGC Nice. Both club’s would be a good environment for Bah to play for so all that awaits is Bah’s final decision.
