Tom Bradshaw is the kind of signing FLW’s Wrexham fan pundit wants to see the club make this summer.

According to London News Online, the Red Dragons are keen on signing the 31-year-old, but face competition from Cardiff City.

Wrexham are planning for life in League One after earning a second consecutive promotion last season.

Phil Parkinson will be keen to build a team capable of competing in the third tier of English football, having been in the National League just two years ago.

The future of the Millwall forward is uncertain, with the Lions reportedly working on the signing of Macaulay Langstaff from Notts County.

FLW’s Wrexham fan pundit Liam Grice believes that Bradshaw would be a good addition to Parkinson’s squad for next season.

He has highlighted the experience he would bring to the team, especially given Paul Mullin has only made 20 appearances at this level before in his career (all stats from Fbref).

“As I’ve said previously, I think Tom Bradshaw is the level of player we should be looking to bring in now,” Grice told Football League World.

“He is a bit on the older side, he is 30+ but he’s proven he can score goals in the Championship, and he’s played in League One before as well, which I think is valuable experience to put up alongside Mullin.

“Okay, he’s proven he can score at League Two and National League level, but he’s never played properly at League One level before, so to have that little bit of nous and experience to have alongside [Steven] Fletcher as well, I think would make him an invaluable signing as well for sure.”

Tom Bradshaw’s importance to Millwall

Bradshaw signed for Millwall in the summer of 2018 on an initial loan move that became permanent in January 2019.

He joined from Barnsley, and has gone on to cement his place as a key part of the first team squad.

The 31-year-old has featured 195 times in the league for the London club over the last six seasons, scoring 42 goals.

However, the potential signing of Langstaff could see his game time in Neil Harris’ squad reduced next season, which could open the door to a potential sale this summer.

Bradshaw’s experience will be a huge asset for Wrexham

If Wrexham can get this deal over the line then it could be quite exciting for supporters.

The cost of the deal will be important, as the Welsh outfit should avoid spending too much on a 31-year-old as he will have no re-sale value and will likely have higher wage demands.

However, he is a proven goal scorer at this level and could help keep Wrexham competitive as they make the jump up to League One.
