Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has admitted winning the Europa League will not save their season - and could make them one of the worst teams ever to lift the trophy.
His side are as good as booked back to Bilbao, where the final takes place, having picked up a 3-0 first leg win in the Basque Country last week against Athletic Club.
Barring an incredible capitulation at Old Trafford, they will contest the final later this month, where fellow Premier League strugglers Tottenham Hotspur are likely to await them.
"We could be the worst team in Premier League history with the Europa League title," Amorim admitted ahead of the second leg.
"But that doesn't change anything. This season has been very disappointing for us and nothing will change that.
"I still feel that this season was the worst in 40 years."
United currently sit 15th in the Premier League table and last time they finished that low in the top flight was in 1974 - a year they were relegated.
