Amad Diallo is set to return to Manchester United training next week after making a "record" recovery from his ankle injury, a report has revealed.
When Amad went down in February, it was quickly reported that the young winger would not return at all this season, but recent updates from the club and head coach Ruben Amorim have offered hope that Amad could be back far sooner than expected.
That comeback is inching ever closer as Fabrizio Romano has revealed Amad will be back in United training as soon as next week.
It is claimed that Amad has recovered "in record time" as he bids to return and help United over the final weeks of the season.
Amad has not played in just over two months and may still take some time to get up to full fitness. Amorim is highly unlikely to take any significant risks with the 22-year-old, particularly after admitting his focus is no longer on Premier League games.
"It's not the best moment or the best season to put some kids to play because they need a strong base to really show what they can do, but in this moment we need to do it," United's head coach admitted after securing passage to the Europa League semi-finals.
Instead, Amorim will want Amad back and firing fit for United's Europa League journey. The semi-final first leg against Athletic Club on May 1 will likely come too soon for the Ivory Coast international but there may be one eye on the return leg seven days later.
The final, against either Tottenham Hotspur or Bodo/Glimt, is set for May 21.
Welcoming Amad back into the fold comes as a huge boost to United. He is their third-highest goalscorer across all competitions with nine, also chiming it with eight assists for good measure.
