Despite the two most recent results, Tottenham Hotspur have had an excellent season.

Ange Postecoglou really has Spurs ticking this year. When the manager has his full first-team squad at his disposal – there aren’t many better sides in world football.

The players have really stepped up this season. James Maddison, Son Heung-Min and Micky van de Ven have been particularly impressive.

Postecoglou’s incomings were excellent in the summer window, which has led to their success – however, who did they send out on loan? Here’s who they are and how they’ve fared. Please note Ivan Perisic is not included, as he will not be returning to the club in the summer.

Loaned to: Millwall

Japhet Tanganga’s loan move to Augsburg didn’t go to plan.

The English defender played a total of 0 minutes at the Bundesliga side, which led him to be recalled in January.

He then subsequently was sent by the coaching staff to Millwall in the Championship where, hopefully, he’ll finally get some much-needed minutes on the pitch.

Djed Spence

Loaned to: Genoa

Djed Spence was sent to Leeds United to play some more Championship football by big Ange.

The English right-back did not have a good time in Yorkshire. Spence picked up a ligament injury back in September, then was out of first-team squad favour on his return – playing just six more times.

With Radu Dragusin coming the other way Spence joins Genoa on loan, who do have an option to buy the English youngster at the end of the season. He had a decent debut in Italy.

Tanguy Ndombele

Loaned to: Galatasaray

It’s not been a very good start to life in Turkey for Tanguy Ndombele.

He has some fitness-related problems – with reports the Frenchman has weight issues. This has led to just 398 minutes played in the league. Yikes.

Galatasaray have the option to make this deal permanent at the end of the season, although we have a slight hunch he may be coming back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer.

Troy Parrott

Loaned to: Excelsior

It’s been hit-and-miss for Troy Parrott at Excelsior, but overall he’s doing well in the Netherlands.

He started off phenomenally. After netting his first against Heerenveen in his third game, he then went on to score a dramatic 94th-minute winner the very next week. He since has bagged just four more, making it six goals in 18 games.

Not the worst loan spell so far, but surely Parrott has more to offer for the Dutch side.

Sergio Reguilon

Loaned to: Brentford

Amid an injury crisis – Erik ten Hag’s side sought out Sergio Reguilon‘s services.

The Spaniard had a brilliant start to his United career, with some excellent opening performances, until this was stunted by an injury. He did return, but game time was scarce. This led to his loan being terminated early by the Red Devils.

Reguilon was recalled from Manchester United and then sent to Brentford on loan until the end of the season.

It’s still relatively unknown as to whether Brentford will try and make this one permanent. But with Destiny Udogie playing the way he is – we reckon the manager won’t be too fussed.

Alfie Devine

Loaned to: Plymouth Argyle

Alfie Devine had a great spell at Port Vale. The Tottenham academy prospect played 27 games for them this season, scoring three goals.

Despite smashing it at Port Vale, Alfie Devine has been recalled and sent to Plymouth on loan, leaping up a full division in the English football pyramid.

His debut in the Championship went well, he got an assist in a great win for the Argyle.

Joe Rodon

Loaned to: Leeds United

A regular starter at Leeds – it’s Joe Rodon.

He played 26 games in the Championship this year, starting 24 as he pushes for promotion with the Lilywhites.

Rodon did have a rather tough game in November, with a shocker of a performance against Hull where he was shown a red card. But other than that, he’s been solid as a rock.

Leeds will be more than happy with their summer business obtaining the Welshman, and will more than likely be looking to prise him away from North London next season.

Eric Dier

Loaned to: Bayern Munich

Spurs beat Bayern Munich to Radu Dragusin and offloaded Eric Dier in the process. He joined on loan until the end of the season.

He links up with Harry Kane, but is yet to play in the Bundesliga. Dier also has an option to buy at the end of the season is Thomas Tuchel wants to pull the trigger on him.

Ashley Phillips

Loaned to: Plymouth Argyle

Ashley Phillips secured a loan move to Plymouth until the end of the season with no obligation to buy. He joins up with Alfie Devine in the Championship.

He’s played two out of two games thus far, finishing each. A good start.

Matthew Craig

Loaned to: Doncaster Rovers

The 19-year-old Tottenham Hotspur academy midfielder Matthew Craig secured a loan to Doncaster until the end of the season. He’s only played one game so far at the time of writing.
