Manchester United are attempting to offload several high-profile players this summer, including Alejandro Garnacho, who is eager to remain in England.

The Argentine has plenty of suitors, both in England and all across Europe, as well as Saudi Arabia, but the forward is looking to move to London.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with a move, with the Blues in pole position as per the latest reports, which have even stated swap deal talks have taken place with the Red Devils.

INEOS are looking at a straight sale, and as per Teamtalk, the Stamford Bridge side value the Carrington graduate at £55-60 million while the 20-time English league champions will not sell to a direct rival for less than £70 million.

Valuation gap remains between Chelsea and United

The report further mentions that Chelsea have no problem in paying the 20-year-old’s wage demands but do not want to overpay for the versatile forward.

Enzo Maresca is yet to take a firm call, as he wants to make sure Alejandro Garnacho is a good fit for the dressing room environment.

His attacking style complements what he is trying to build, but he does not want to bring in a disruptive influence. Which is why Chelsea are taking their time over submitting a formal proposal.

“Chelsea are evaluating their interest in Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho, with sources informing TEAMtalk that the Blues will make a final decision on pursuing the winger in the near future.

“The London club value the Argentine star at £55-60 million (up to €70m / $82m) and see him as an affordable target. However, there is disagreement between Chelsea and Man Utd, as the Red Devils are reportedly asking for £70m (€82m / $95.5m) before selling.

Maresca not sure about the personality of Alejandro Garnacho

“Garnacho’s wages do not pose an issue for Chelsea, as sources have confirmed to TEAMtalk that he is not demanding exorbitant sums. Instead, the focus is on whether he fits the personality mould prioritised by head coach Enzo Maresca.

“Maresca, keen to build a squad with the right characters, views Garnacho’s flair and work rate as potential assets for Chelsea’s attacking line. The 20-year-old’s pace and directness could complement the Blues’ evolving style, but his integration into a tight-knit dressing room is crucial.”

These concerns are valid to a certain extent given the frequent run-ins between the wonderkid and Ruben Amorim last season, culminating in a dressing room showdown following the Europa League final.

It was expected that the Argentina international would play a key role moving forward under the new head coach but his explosive comments and behaviour off the pitch have not done him any favours.

INEOS will be hoping for a bidding war, judging from the interest the Carrington graduate is generating. The best part: his sale represents pure profit due to his homegrown status.
