Kristjan Asllani feels that Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez is a “real leader” at Inter Milan.
The Albanian international spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after yesterday evening’s Serie A win over Genoa. He had words of praise for match-winner Martinez.
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez showed yet again why he is so important for his team yesterday.
The Argentine has certainly scored some decisive goals for the Nerazzurri over the last few years.
And so it proved once again yesterday. Martinez found the back of the net with a perfectly-placed header from a Hakan Calhanoglu corner against Genoa yesterday.
That header was enough for a 1-0 victory for the Nerazzurri.
But Martinez has given Inter a lot more than just his goals.
For the last two seasons, the 27-year-old has been Inter’s captain. He inherited the armband from Samir Handanovic in the summer of 2023.
And even before becoming the captain, Martinez had marked himself as a key figure within the Inter squad.
Inter Milan midfielder Kirstjan Asllani said that Lautaro Martinez “is our captain, and a special guy.”
“He always talks to the whole group,” he added. “Even the players from the Primavera team.”

“We’re very happy to have him with us.”
Inter Milan midfielder Kristjan Asllani gave his thoughts after yesterday’s victory over Genoa.
“This was an important win,” said the Albanian. “Genoa are a strong team, they’re doing well in the table.”
Asllani made clear that “We’re happy, we take the three points.”
“In the first half we didn’t find much space,” the 22-year-old noted. “Then in the second we had more patience, and we unlocked the match on a corner.”
“We work hard on that,” said Asllani of Inter’s set pieces.
“We worked hard this week, because we were really disappointed by the loss to Juventus.”
