Speaking to Sky Sports post-match on Saturday night, the 6ft3 striker remained humble in his analysis of his scoring exploits.

Everyone is there to make an impact

“I don’t think I won us the game, but I’m really happy. I’ve said this week that I want to set myself some goals and obviously the main one was to score more goals,” he said.

“Look, I’m happy with how I played [against Hearts]and overall, the team, we got the three points. Whether you are starting or coming off the bench, everyone is there to make an impact, so that’s the mindset we’ve got and everyone is doing their best.”

In response to whether the opportunities will keep on coming for the Irishman domestically and in Europe’s elite club competition, Idah outlined, “yeah, 100 percent. Especially with us in the Champions League, everyone knows how important these games are and everyone wants to do well and play their part.”

“I think for now we are doing well. We’ve just got to keep going.”
