Real Madrid have released an official statement confirming the exit of right-back Alex Jimenez to AC Milan. The 19-year-old has spent this season on loan at the Rossoneri.
Jimenez arrived at Real Madrid’s academy as a seven-year-old and worked his way through the ranks reaching the Castilla side, before heading to Italy this season. The two sides had agreed a €5m buy clause, and AC Milan have decided to activate it. This season Jimenez moved between the under-19s, the Primavera side (B team) and even made a handful of cameos for the first team under Stefano Pioli. He has signed a deal until 2028 with Milan.
Los Blancos will need a successor at right-back before too long, but with Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez still in situ next season, his opportunities are likely to be limited. Just a couple of years younger than Jimenez is also Jesus Fortea, who Real Madrid have placed plenty of hope in that he could make the first team.
