Despite being linked with several players in the last summer transfer window to reinforce the left wing, FC Barcelona were unable to land any of their desired signings, and the only two new players to reinforce the squad for Hansi Flick were Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.

One of the players with whom the Catalans were linked in that window was the Portuguese winger Rafael Leão, but this move was not realized because neither Barcelona had any FFP margin to incorporate him and AC Milan also did not want to part ways with him.

However, the conditions for both of these clubs have changed, as the Blaugranes have now returned to the 1:1 status, making it considerably easier for them to land new players, while the Rosoneri are also open to selling Leão, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish journal cites some sources from Italy to claim that the Lombard club is willing to sell two of its most important stars, i.e., Rafael Leão and Theo Hernández because they want to retain João Félix in their squad beyond the summer and make him the face of their team, as he has joined the Italian team only on a six-month loan for now.

Firstly, AC Milan would try to get Félix on another loan, this time with a purchase option of around €40 million. However, having finished the last financial year with a €50 million deficit, the sales of Leão and Hernández are not being ruled out.

The French fullback’s contract is ending in 2026, so he will naturally be the priority candidate for a departure. However, the Italians will also not mind selling Leão if a suitable offer comes for him, especially keeping in view the criticism he has received from both his last coach, Paulo Fonseca, and the current coach, Sérgio Conceição.
