Abu Dhabi Diary: Day Two | OneFootball

Another action-packed day for City during our warm weather training camp, including an incredible desert experience!

The Blues were up bright and early for our latest session, with spirits high in the camp as the squad arrived at the training ground.

The intensity of the session had certainly ramped up, but the same key messages around defensive shape and patterns of play were clear to see from the get-go.

Crossing and shooting scenarios were in full flow, while our defensive players also worked on possession around the back in the Abu Dhabi sun.

An 11 v 11 game followed, with the players putting in the hard yards under the watchful eye of Gareth Taylor as his staff.

After some brief recovery work in the gym, the team enjoyed a quick break before an exciting excursion into the Abu Dhabi desert.

Nestled within the stunning sand dunes, the players were treated to some traditional Arabic food, camel rides and henna.

The sunset also provided opportunities for some incredible photography, with most of the squad and staff making their way up to the top of a nearby dune to absorb our incredible surroundings.

Finally, everyone was treated to some traditional Arabic dancing and an incredible fire display.

Leila Ouahabi and Laia Aleixandri both got a little too close for comfort to the stage, with the performer jokingly feinting towards them.

The Spanish pair both showed a clean pair of heels to get out the ‘danger zone’, drawing a laugh from the watching crowd!
