It was a bittersweet night at San Siro as AC Milan drew 2-2 with Fiorentina. We can read the result in various ways. In general, it is a missed opportunity to get closer to the European places and, more specifically, we approached the game poorly and let our opponents in for their two goals with mistakes. However, after the break, we pulled level thanks to a spirited second-half performance. It was an action-packed and emotional encounter, which ended level - Abraham and Jović with the goals for the hosts. The Serbian put in another positive performance, while a sensational Maignan again produced a string of stunning stops.

The Rossoneri created plenty but conceded a lot too. The performance was there, but the result was not enough.  Serie A matchday 31 did not yield the three points, that the Diavolo needed given the current standings: they remain in ninth place, now on 48 points, four behind eighth place and in danger of falling further away from the Champions League spots. It was a half comeback, and there were both positives and negatives in an ever-complicated league campaign. Up next, at 20:45 CEST on Friday 11 April, we travel to Udine - a ground that has not been kind historically - in the hopes of a result.

MATCH REPORT In the 7th minute, Fiorentina took the lead: mistake from Musah, Guðmundsson struck and sent it into the fray and Thiaw got a touch but it went in anyway. In the 10th minute, they doubled the lead: Mandragora picked out Dodô who gave it to Kean who put it away. We tried to react and in the 19th minute, Leão chose to put a ball into the middle instead of taking a shot - imprecisely. In the 21st minute, Maignan stopped a shot from Guðmundsson. In the 23rd minute, we pulled one back: Pulisic to Abraham who sent it straight past De Gea. Things slowed and the play was stopped in the 42nd minute for a foul on Pulisic, though Ranieri had the ball in the net.

In the 46th minute, Jović led a counter and passed to Leão, blocked from finishing. In the 51st minute, Kean took a powerful shot, forcing Maignan to intervene. At the other end, Abraham had a header saved by De Gea. Two near-chances in the 56th minute as Reijnders shot and Pulisic’s subsequent tap-in were kept out by the goalkeeper. Trouble in the 63rd minute as Maignan was called into action on Beltrán. After which, we went level: Tomori to Jović, who was clinical in the box. Maignan performed a miracle on a shot from Kean in the 69th minute, set to score. In the 74th minute, Hernández went on a run but De Gea was there. In the 83rd minute, Kean wasted a header, blocked by Maignan; the play continued and Hernández took aim but failed to hit the target. In the 86th minute, Maignan was brilliant on a low shot from Kean. In the 89th minute, Dodô had a goal ruled out for an offside. Full-time.
