Estevao Willian is on fire.

Chelsea’s decision to leave him on loan at Palmeiras for the year he waits until he’s eligible to move to Europe are paying off. He’s getting minutes and playing decisively.

Tonight, the 17 year old helped his team to a 2-0 win over Bahia in the Brazilian Serie A with a goal and an assist. He looks the definition of a wonderkid, and the more he plays at this age the better. He could yet arrive a really developed prospect.

That goal is magnificent, scored on the stroke of half time, from a Bahia corner. Willian picks up the ball and runs halfway down the pitch, then cuts inside and slams it into the corner. It’s breath-taking. Here’s to many more goals like that in Blue!
