A trio of players at La Liga giants Real Madrid on Sunday partook in their first training sessions under the watch of Xabi Alonso.

That’s according to Blancos insider Arancha Rodríguez, who has provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in the capital club’s first-team ranks.

Real Madrid are of course currently in the midst of final preparations for a return to action this coming week.

Just weeks on from bringing a close to their La Liga campaign, Los Merengues have shifted focus towards the newly-formatted FIFA Club World Cup.

The bulk of Real’s squad made their way to the USA for the tournament directly from Madrid late on Saturday evening.

Three members of Xabi Alonso’s squad, though, only reconvened with their teammates for the first time this summer in the early hours of Sunday.

Owing to their respective commitments on the international front over the last couple of weeks, Vinícius Jr, Arda Güler and Andriy Lunin made their own travel arrangements to make the trip to Miami.

On Sunday, the trio, in turn, linked up with new boss Alonso, and teammates Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold in training for the first time.
